Experience & Approach

The combined team at Clark possesses a strong and complementary balance of gifts, skills and relationships. With regards to facility planning and management, we represent a collective of over 100 years of industry experience and 70 years of experience serving churches. Our understanding and objectivity has allowed us to position ourselves as strategic planners in decisions that shape the need for facilities, and our response is to offer a suite of services that fulfills this need at any point of the Client’s planning and execution process.

As Strategic Planners, Clark recommends that the definition of the short term solution(s) be done in the context of your long-term strategy. Establishing and documenting the vision of what your church desires to accomplish provides an established direction, priority, and timing for the investments being considered, as well as a comfort of knowing the ultimate outcome before beginning the design and integration process.

In addition to Strategic Planning, we also understand that projects have intensive demands of coordination and complexity that demand a high degree of understanding of the core principles of Project Development and Management. Furthermore, they require an acute understanding of how to merge the construction operations with ongoing church program operations. Our team offers the experience and knowledge to balance decisions that benefit a project’s progress while minimizing adverse impacts to the day-to-day operations.

Simply put, our approach is to operate as the church’s advocate while facilitating positive team relationships. We understand how to provide a climate of openness and accountability for the entire Project Team while promoting excellent communication and fostering strong relationships. Our experience provides a clear understanding of how to lead in a positive direction.

Facility Service Offerings

Strategic Planning

Addresses critical decision-making issues that are necessary to model and analyze facility development. Numerous variables are sensibly balanced to deliver a studied approach prior to committing hundreds of thousands of dollars to design – or worse yet, millions to build – a project that neither fulfills the stated mission nor can be afforded. This analysis is the basis for the initial conceptual plans.

Project Development

Links the vision of the plan to the implementation of construction. With a Strategic Plan in place, there are steps that must be taken prior to simply designing and constructing a facility. Whether it’s relocating or expanding on an existing site, oftentimes different zonings need to be obtained and/or property entitlements acquired from federal, state and local authorities. These are in addition to and come far in advance of building, DOT, and other plan-related permits. We also facilitate project funding by acting as liaison with financial partners and analyzing options to secure a lending package.
