Oftentimes surprises in business are not perceived as something that is necessarily good. This tale, however, is one of nice surprises.
Clark has enjoyed a long-term client relationship with Pinelake Church, an influential multi-site church in and around the greater Jackson. MS area. Kent Vincent, Pinelake’s lead pastor, recalls of our most recent partnership, “We’ve worked with Clark in the past…but I was ready for them to tell me that they couldn’t make this project happen.”
Kent had reason to be concerned: In order to move forward creatively, Pinelake’s sanctuary needed a major facelift around its stage and the key obstacle came in the form of a concrete choir loft. Kent wanted it gone.
He also knew what he wanted in its place: a floor-to-ceiling screen that could be used in banner-mode for content projection during worship services while the full-screen-mode could also serve as a creative backdrop for internet streaming and recording. Kent knew that replacing the choir loft with a screen would require a one of massive proportions. He also knew that there would not be a lot of space for the necessary rear projector.
With all of the obstacles in mind, Kent called us to presented the project. And while our team shared his concerns, we weren’t deterred. That’s the thing about getting started with the assumption that anything’s possible…we’ve got a penchant for creative and unconventional thinking. Here’s what we did:
We designed a solution for a custom floor-to-ceiling retractable screen that would fill the center stage area. With the use of edge blending technology, we opted for two rear projectors behind the new center screen to allow for seamless images to be projected from a tight space. Our two-projector solution also achieved the pixel quality of a higher-priced single HD projector.
Kent was surprised and ecstatic to get more bang for Pinelake’s buck, but that wasn’t the end of the story…we had one more surprise for him. We were also able to upgrade their left and right IMAG screen set-up on either side of the stage with two HD projectors and new screens. And yes, we were able to do all within the original budget parameters.
Pinelake’s four projectors and three screens provide Kent’s team with a technological platform that can continue to evolve as they reproduce. Kent exclaims, “There’s so much we’re going to be able to do with this!”
Clark was able to provide a creative solution that allowed Pinelake’s creativity to shine…which in Clark’s eyes equals a successful project.
